How precious is this sweet family! I love family lifestyle sessions in homes, but I also adore getting outside and letting nature be the backdrop. Nature’s beauty has a way of inviting our own beauty to come alive. It has a way of producing joy, awe and wonder in us, and rarely can we hide these on our faces. Do you know how much easier that makes my job? Jk. Sort of.

I think, too, that nature has a way of making us feel simultaneously very small and very valuable. Nature is a force that we cannot reckon with. It’s beauty is incomparable, it’s truly unpredictable (though we try), and it’s uncontrollable. And yet, here we are, fully individual, never anyone else exactly like us in the history of earth, and it’s a total miracle that each of us are in the space and time that we are, creating human bonds, experiencing true love, and creating new life. It’s really astonishing to think about.
