Since 2012, I’ve photographed thousands of incredible families and businesses across Austin and beyond. Whether I’m documenting snuggly newborns at home, capturing candid family chaos, or helping brands visually tell their story, my goal is always the same: to reflect the beauty, personality, and connection that already exists in your life or work.

There is something about walking into a home in the first few weeks with a new baby. The lights are a little low, there are burp cloths on every surface, and everyone is running on love and very little sleep. That is exactly the feeling I want to hold onto in photos.
This session took place in a family’s home in Tarrytown, with their second baby at about two weeks old. Before we started, mom told me they didn’t want still, posed photos. They wanted movement. Real life, the way it actually feels with a toddler and a newborn under one roof. I loved that.

Every newborn session I do happens in your home. No studio, no car seat, no packing a diaper bag for a place you have never been. You get to stay in your comfy clothes, feed the baby whenever they need it, and sit on your own couch.
Home is also where the story is. The rocking chair you picked out. The window where you stand at 3 a.m. The bed where the whole family piles in on Saturday mornings. Those places matter, and in ten years you will be so glad they are in your photos.

Their nursery gets gorgeous east-facing light, soft and bright in the morning, so that is where we started. The baby was sleepy and full, and that window did most of the work for me.
Older homes in Tarrytown often have beautiful windows and a lot of character, and I love working with what each space gives me. I move a lamp or open a curtain here and there, but I never need your house to look like a magazine.

Big sister was so loving. She wanted to hold the baby, kiss the baby, and check on the baby every few minutes. I never asked her to sit still or smile on cue. Letting her be happy, instead of forcing anything, is what gave us the real interaction between the two of them.
Then we had a dance party to Frozen. Big sister twirled, mom and dad swayed with the baby in their arms, and everyone was laughing. Those are some of my favorite images from the whole session, and they are exactly the movement this family asked for.

Sessions usually run one to two hours, and we go at your baby’s pace. Feeding breaks, diaper changes, and a fussy stretch are all part of the plan. You will receive 50+ edited images within three weeks, and all-inclusive sessions start at $950.
The best time for newborn photos is in the first 2-6 weeks, while babies are still sleepy and curled up. That is why I recommend booking during your pregnancy. We pick a date around your due date, then adjust once your baby arrives.
You can see more of my newborn work on my newborn page.

If you are due this winter or spring and live in Tarrytown, Westlake, or anywhere in Austin, I would love to hear from you. My newborn calendar fills by due date, so reaching out early is the best way to hold your spot. I reply to every inquiry within 24 hours.
