A Colorado Family | Austin Family Photographer

Before we knew we had a baby on the way, I booked a one-on-one mentorship in Colorado with the fabulous My Four Hens Photography.  I figured it was a great way for me to learn from a peer, photograph in the Colorado foothills AND bring the hubs along as a great excuse to extend it into a vacation for us. Timing was perfect – the weather was beautiful, I was almost out of my first trimester funk and we hadn’t been on a vacation in a while.
We rented a car and stayed in Estes Park. It was the first time we had been there and loved it! If you go, I would totally recommend staying at Aspen Winds. Clean, quiet, on a cute river and the staff was fabulous.

Enough about our stay and on to the photos! Loved working with this family, and I have to stay – they totally nailed it! The kiddos were so great and were troopers through our two hour session. The foothills (in Ft. Collins) with the mountains, and the lack of intense heat were a nice break from Texas 🙂 And, can we talk about those giant dandelions for a moment? Holy – they were the size of an orange and the kids loved them!

All of a sudden the sun poked out from behind the clouds right at the end of our session…it was the perfect ending!
